Beyonce, Dizzee, Kanye Earn 3 MOBO Nominations

U.K. rapper Dizzee Rascal, Beyonce and Kanye West have each picked up three nominations for the 2009 MOBO Awards, which will move from London to Glasgow for the first time in their 13-year history.

The MOBO Awards, which recognizes music of black origin, will take place on Sept. 30 at Glasgow SECC and be screened live on digital channel BBC Three.

Dizzee Rascal is nominated for best U.K. act, best hip-hop act and best video for his No. 1 single "Bonkers" (Dirtee Stank).

Kanye West is nominated for best hip-hop act, best international act and best album for "808s and Heartbreaks" (Mercury). He also features on Mr Hudson's "Supernova" (Good Music), which is nominated for best video.

The nominees for best international act are: Akon, Beyonce, Ciara, Drake, Eminem
Jay-Z, Kanye West, Keri Hilson, Lady Gaga and Mariah Carey.

Ciara and Keri Hilson are also nominated for best R&B/soul act alongside Beverley Knight, Jeremih and Lemar, while Drake, Eminem and Kanye West are the international acts up for best hip-hop alongside Chipmunk and Dizzee Rascal.

Beyonce has two further nominations for best album for "I Am... Sasha Fierce" (Columbia) and "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)" for best video.

"Supporting urban music talent is vital to the industry and the MOBO Awards does an outstanding job of nurturing new talent and recognizing the icons of music which inspire artists today," said Marvin Humes of JLS in a statement.

"The fact that we are holding the awards in Glasgow this year is testament to the fact that MOBO Music is the sound of Britain as a whole," said Kanya King, founder of MOBO. "The reception from Scotland has been great and we cannot wait to put on our show up there."

There also reggae, jazz, African and gospel categories. The public can vote at www.mobo.com.
